Today I am sharing my trip Experience to Los Cabos in Mexico. I picked that place because it’s have direct flight from Vancouver -BC and the prices seemed pretty reasonable.
The people are very friendly, when you arrive at the airport many tourist guides will try to stop you to get tourist packages – avoid them and go to your car service or taxis out front – most taxis are like big vans and they accept US dollars or Pesos and there are many outside the airport.
Many people speak English but it’s helpful to try to learn some basic words of the local language – they appreciate it and it makes for less stressful communication .
Sport Activities and Kids
They have lots of family attractions such as camels rides ( 5 years old and up), pirates boat show , Dolphins and more for the little ones and teens, but also most of the hotels and resorts offer kids club activities and for a break I highly recommend the babysitting services at the resort they are great with kids and cost around $20 dollars an hour ( they don’t charged extra for my 2nd child)
Below is a list of some information of Activities:
- ATV’s Baja Off-Road Cabo Dune Buggy City Tours Camel Safari Cabo Glider Tour Golf – 8 Award Winning Courses Hiking Horseback Riding Powered Paragliding Scooter Rentals Sky Diving Zip Lines
Food: give preference for what is local. They have delicious fish and specials of the day with fresh seasonal ingredients.I couldn’t stop to eat guacamole and beef burritos.
For fashion shopping:: I highly recommend to go and find local brands for unique experience. Many places charge in US dollars or local currency so give preference for the local currency if you don’t work with USD and pay attention and keep your receipt as many stores have the tax free program.
You can set up a dinner on the beach but if you want to explore the restaurants my favourite was at San Jose Del Cabo Casa des Artistes. They have a stunning interior design, delicious well decorated plates fusion Mexican French food.
In Cabo San Lucas Sunset Monalisa is also beautiful and have 3 different ambiance restaurants, my favourite is Tattinger champagne Lounge and oysters Bar
For bubbles lovers as me the champagne such as Veuve Clicquot and Moët Chandon are very reasonable prices around US$100 to US$120 which is the price I payed at the resort and found the same price at a liquor store.
Spas: the hotels have good spas but if you want to go low key they have many options of small spas around most hotels and the price starts at USD 40 ( 50 min) massage.
Weather: is consistent but a little windy sometimes at night so bring a scarf or something to cover up.
Beaches: all beaches are beautiful and clean. At the San Jose del Cabo area, the waves are big and the Locals Highly Recommend to don’t swim in that area.Don’t forget to wear sunscreen and the thermals water is a great refresh for the dry air.
Airport: The airport on the way back: is very small, busy and a little complicated to find the priority lines. Pay attention if you’re traveling business class or have company status. After security you will find few stores and duty free they have one VIP Lounge that can be free if you are AMEX member or payed ( US$50 per person).
